..but what I wonder is why they would think it wise to shoot at these ships:

Yeah, you'd think they'd have enough sense. Though I suppose they assumed their chances were high because they thought RPG's were cooler.

Yea it sounds like they didn't attack the Navy ship, sounds more like the ships saw them holding RPG's and preciptated the standoff.
I think the fact that pirate attacks have gone from 2 to 35 from one year to the next is more interesting than this attack though.
