Yes, the PC gaming will die line we've been hearing since 1996.
I dident say its dying, and you cant been hearing that since 1996...
If you open your eyes and look around... you will see that consoles are very powerful these days and more and more gamers and developers are turning their heads towards consoles.
Why?, i tell ya why.. take the developers, instead of having 100 employees split up in 3 teams to work on 3 different versions (pc, ps2 and 360 for example) that will require alot of testing, different hardwares, different skills etc.. they can focus that 100 man team on one hardware (360 for example) and can acomplish more and a better quailty game.
And alot of devs seems to like to work with one hardware since its easier and less of a hazzel... or am i wrong?
Nextgen consoles are as powerful as the topranged pc today..and beyond it, sure pc will be ahead 8-10 months from now.. but that wont be awhole lot.. some minor graphic changes and better resolution.
If we look at it from a gamers point of view.. each year you HAVE to upgrade if you wanna play new released games..weather its a graphic card or more ram.. you need to download patches, find bugs, different crashes etc.. with a console, you put the dvd in the tray and voila.
Cons are that its hard to play a fps with a controller and the games are somewhat expensive.. but thats about it.
I been playing games since i was 8.. owned most consoles and started playing pc games as late as -99, so for these past 6 years i been addicted and devoted to pc.. and would never dream of playing a game on a fucking console..pffft, but that has changed..
When i played my dreamcast online..the online part sucked, with 360 its 10 times better than pc.
First of, everybody on live uses a account name, abuse it and others will know instantly, no typing are needed..its all about voip..which makes it funnier and we see less morons that type "n00b" because now they have to actually say it in the mic with their 14 year old puerty voice.
Finding players are easy as hell... all people you have played against are saved on a tab...so you can go there and see who ya played against and even add them as friends.
Hosting is better and more stable on Live now..atleast the games i have played online.
Patches, updates, demos, graphics and trailers are all gathered at a single place called Marketplace.
Xbox live have a lot of good stuff and it works flawless..for me and 90% of the people i have played with.
You have achievments, score tables, rankings etc.. you can look at every gamers profile and see what scores he has, games he owns, if he is a nice fella.. if he is online, what he is playing right now and much more.
You think you seen the best graphics and sounds for the 360?
Nope, it takes time to learn hardware... expect to see better looking games on the 360 for atleast 2 years ahead.
Just look at Black for ps2.. a console that is 5 years old pushing out graphics that are of todays standard.
Then we have PS3 coming this fall (november) and everything that it brings...
Alot of fat titles are coming soon to the nextgen and there are alot of good ones out already.
Farcry instincst predator
Dead rising
Battlefield 2: Modern combat
Oblivion (alot of upgrade are needed to play this game with everything at max on pc.. Xbox 360 already have it all at max)
Stranglehold
GR:AW
Project gotham racing 3
Test drive unlimited
Gears of war
The Godfather
Top spin 2
Medal of Honor: Airborne
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent
Alan Wake
Mass effect
SSX 4
NHL 06
Lost planet
Total overdose 2
Brothers in arms 3
UT2007
Fight night round 3
And many more...
Sure, alot of these games arent exclusive and will be released for pc aswell.. but how many of these games can the majority of gamers enjoy on max settings?
We, the 360 owners can.. and dont have to worry that it wont run, we need sp2, that patch, or those drivers.. we dont have to be worry about weird programs being installed like Starforce..
Im telling ya...consoles are taking back the gaming throne.
PC as a gaming rig wont die.. pc made consoles what they are today... but consoles started it.
But why choose when you can have it all?
I got cash to spend on any platform, it just feels right to spend it on the mighty 360.. atleast for now.
