Televisions & Warranty, need suggestions

I have a Panasonic 27" TV, that keeps getting horizontal white lines when you first turn it on. They keep expanding and each time you have to leave the television on for longer in order for them to disappear. It's really annoying and you basically can't see 1/3rd of the screen. The first time it started happening I called in the store and they sent this repairman with a very thick asian accent and it's extremely hard to understand him most of the time. He took part of the television away and we had no television for about 10 days. After numerous phonecalls he finally came around and installed the part he took. The television worked fine for about 2 and a half months. Now we have the exact same problem again, and the white lines are expanding each time you turn on the TV, you have to wait a good 10 minutes before you can watch the television and each time you turn it on it gets worse. So I called in again, same guy comes around after several days and tells me again he needs to take the TV part again and he doesn't know for how long, etc, etc. He acctualy told me himself that I can phone the place up again if I wanted to, so I told him, I'll phone the place I bought it and talk to them see what else they can do. The TV is still under warranty for 5 months or so.
I know most people would say I can't do anything about this, but do you guys know anyway I can get the company or Panasonic to replace the television set. Because I know this will continue to happen over and over, and I'm left with no working television for a long period of time and it's just such a hassle to have them repair it all the time. Any suggestions?

Go back to the store and demand a replacement. If you don't you're going to end up fucking around with the repairs until you're out of warranty time and then you're really boned.
If you bought it with a credit or debit card, you have some leverage by threatening to dispute the charge.

If you don't want to read it all, it basicly says they wont fix the tv if it's an act of god. :icon19:
I wonder if you could claim that the devil broke it, since they don't specify the devil and the devil is viewed different. :icon19:
But seriously any more ideas? I'm going to phone them tomorow and see if they can replace it or even find a different repair person.

Most places say that; covers flooding, tornados etc, saves the insurance company billions i guess.

Yeah I know why they say it but it's sort of funny they mention god. It's like as if it could be a valid reason like the rest.
I mean you could really argue it's an act of the devil and because they don't mention the devil they are obligated to fix the tv. If they say the devil doesn't exist you just throw some religious text in there and because so many people acctually think there is a devil it would be hard for them to argue or prove there is no devil. Also you could say that they mentioned god, and since they mentioned god it's a valid reason.

Rig the TV stand so that it falls over, dumping the TV on the floor, the next time he comes to fix it. That way they'll have to replace the TV because their clumsy tech. broke it.

:icon19: The repair guy asked me for help last time because he couldn't turn the tv the other way around and we already have a sort of a unsteady area. He almost dropped it last time, it was a little ammusing.
But nah, I wouldn't want to set anything like that. Just mean and I bet he would have to pay for it, i'm not that evil.

Then rig the TV to eletrocute the bastard (which will in turn blow up your TV). Then rob his dead body of all it's cash and sue the company for being tramatized by the in-home electrocution you witnessed. That way you get a new TV, millions of dollars and it doesn't cost the lowly repairman a dime. It's a win/win.

I THINK THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOUR TELEVISION IS DESIGNED FOR POOR PEOPLE, HENCE THE TINY SCREEN SIZE. POOR PEOPLE ARE OFTEN MALNOURISHED AND DIE EARLY IN LIFE, SO TV MANAFACUTRERS MAKE POOR PEOPLES TV'S TO LESS EXACTING SPECIFICATIONS.

In regards to the "act of God" clause in insurance and warranty contracts: The Man Who Sued God is a fantastic movie.

I just called the store and the guy basicly told me they couldn't do anything but fix it, so I just said that the repair person couldn't guarantee that after fixing this wont happen again and that he basicly told me to call you and that this is the second time now and the exact same problem. So now he's going to call the repair service and hopefully they'll say the same thing the repair guy told me. I have a 50/50 chance that they will replace it. It probally costs them more to repair 3 times then to just give me a new one or a used working model.
