Change the view of the model?

I'm using a fov of 110 right now and I see the the end of my model, it's really annoying. Is there a way to decreas the viewmodelsize but keep the same fov?

In q4max, there is a cvar to control that.

cg_weaponFovEffect 0/1

Ah, does that automatically adapt the g_gunx/y/z settings to the fov?

What about vanilla Quake 4? I smell something to add to the next update.

If g_gun/x/y/z will be unlocked for MP, you put the gun a bit back with:

g_gunx "-2"
g_guny "-0.5"
g_gunz "-2"

Those values look best to me for fov 110.
