Anyone here familiar with Terry Pratchett's brilliant Discworld series of books? I'm sure many people here have heard of or even played the Discworld games but has anyone ever read any of the books?
I've read the first four or five books a long time ago, but I've recently started reading them again and I have just started reading the third book (Equal Rites).
Great books, really amusing :icon14:

Geez Eraser, i havnt though about this series in years, i wonder if i still have 'em, packed in a box somewhere.
im off to go search for 'em.
to everyone who hasnt read them, try to find them, borrow 'em off a friend, or buy them, its well worth it. Very entertaining.
and i believe both games are available for PSone, pick 'em up if u can find them.

I've only played the first Discworld game which was a riot

Oh and if people are going to read any of the discworld books, the first two books are definitely the
least funny ones. Most certainly the first one, it's nowhere near as good as the other ones IMO. The second book is so much funnier than the first one already, quite a remarkable difference.
"Shoop" eating Cohen is brilliant

Whoa,I read the first two or three in Swedish like 15 years ago. I remember them all being very funny. Perhaps it's time to read them again, in the original language this time.

Ah yes, when I read them the first time I read 'em in Dutch as well but it just doesn't work as good as the original language.

I think I've read 7 or 8 of them. I really enjoyed them, but grew (very) bored of his style. The books become repetetive imo.

Long term fan, read all but one which Im getting soon.
It helps to be british to get some of the jokes as theres tons of references to british culture and mannerisms.
The books get better and better as they go along.
