first level was great except that the guy crammed far too much stuff into one map. can't complain too much though - decent HL2 SP mods are few and far between
downloading now

I still have to get myself a copy of HL2. HL1 mods were fun and plentiful but it sounds like these HL2 mods are pretty good too.

Black Mesa: Source. They recently changed its name to something else, but yeah, it's still in development. They were recently featured in Computer Gaming World, just maybe four months ago. So as far as I can tell, they're still around.
I look forward to their first big release.

ok, i've played minerva pt2 through and it's pretty good. the pluses and minuses are much the same as the first map, though
visuals - 9 1/2 out of 10 - some original use of vanilla models and plenty of accomplished brush modelling
atmosphere - 9/10 - great ambience, good use of soundscapes and sound effects made it pretty immersive
gameplay - 5/10 - pretty old skool corridor shooter stuff: shoot bad guys, way blocked, find controls to unblock way, more bad guys, rinse and repeat. no memorable moments at all
