I know some of ya have discussed this before(mainly the book) and i stumbled over a remake of the 1956 version of the film.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087803/

Anyone seen this movie? Is it good and worth buying from another country? (shipping, taxes and stuff)

it was on UK tv about a month ago .. it's a really good film, i enjoyed it..especially john hurt's performance. However i dont know how much sense it'll make if you haven't read the book, so much of it wasn't explained.

if you haven't read the book then do.

the film's worth seeing (richard burton's really good in it as well), but it's not really a keeper - maybe one to illegally download before you buy it.
