Quake 4 to get new game mode/s soon

We knew about the maps, but Quake 4 will also be getting a few new game modes:

The original Q4 was to have a sort of assault mode, with Team A attacking something Team B was protecting (Like harvestor in TA), only with it being Marines and Strogg, it could have some good ideas. There are even segment of code and scripting still there for the game mode, in the final game.
So its quite possible, it just need totally new maps.
Or, we get the actual harvestor game mode, with 2 sides in a CTF map. Which would suck.
I kinda hope we get One Flag CTF, I loved that game mode, it was so different. Plus its easy to add.

Assault or 'Infiltration' mode, on team defends their base and the attacking team must try to get their flag and take it to their own base.

Yup, again, piss easy to add. The media is all there, and what isn't there will take around 2 seconds to add (greyscale a flag for gods sake, or even do it via shader).

harvester was a matter of collecting 'skulls' and capping them on the central flag iirc

that would be akin to CTFS mode in 3wave, and would be a worthwhile addition IMO (although ctfs was known for being a bit campy and spammy)
long ago i played a UT mode where you had to attack and take strategic positions in order (ending with the base) each position was defensive in some way, although not so as to be untakeable- this would be my interpretation of an 'assault mode'

While i enjoy Domination, its an Unreal game mode so it wont get in... A shame because it would be great...

I had been wondering what the assault points in CTF are all about.
Domination would be interesting to see in vQ4, although i fear the mod development has stalled somewhat
Its only stalled cos I'm busy in Q4Max. It will be seeing a return (with tweaks) in Q4Max at some point in the future.

It's out as of today. BUT -- it's not compatible with 1.1. The 1.1 version is coming shortly, but we didn't want .72 to be delayed any longer, as most servers are sticking with the 1.0.x until 1.1 becomes final.

Duel mode is just q3 tourney style? I was pumped thinking they just removed the brackets so there was very little down time.
