u know..the one where 80% of the signs were in english for some reason? well those crowds were around 3000 in size. it was supposed to be proof how the lebonese want the syrians out. yeah the syrians who were invited in decades ago by the lebonese (not an invasion like iraq). well there are pro-syrian protest today...hmmm the crowds are a little bigger...see how the media plays this one...so obvious the fix is in...

Obviously...
Has it never occurred to you that people in middle eastern countries write their signs in English because it looks good on our TV? These people aren't stupid. They know they're being watched, especially now. It's the same thing as arabs holding signs that read "Bush is terrorist!"
They want us to be able to read what they have to say and they know we're watching.

The Syrians were there to assist during civil war and were to leave after a set amount of time, but the Lebanese are saying they didn't honor their promise not to stay in occupation. That's why they want these "invited" Syrians out of the country.

I'll make it clear. The Lebanese aren't in agreement that Syria should leave. I still think a slim majority of Lebanese people are pro-Syrian.
Goof is right. *shivers*
You're seeing the true support for hezbollah and Syria out today. Massive crowds.

whenever there are pro-western type rallies(which means rallies that are more in line with western ideals) in middle east u see a bunch of english signs...when its ur typical pro-arab/anti-west rally u see much less english signs and what not...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Yeah, but that doesn't spell conspiracy. That's like saying, "There sure were a lot of John Kerry signs at the John Kerry rally. Must be a vast conspiracy!"
I'll try to make it a little more plain. Pro-western arabs in the middle east (yes they do exist) make their little signs easilly readable to the english-speaking world so they'll garner more support from the english-speaking world. Why you think this is some vast conspiracy is beyond me.

This whole Lebanon thing has ‘intelligence coup’ written all over it. From the blowing up of Hariri to the Saudi demand of Syria’s retreat, it’s all a carefully orchestrated process of changing regional power in the middle east in favour of the pro-US regimes.

No, its more like 'There sure were a lot of John Kerry signs in Chinese at the John Kerry rally'.

Who cares how many come out to support Syrian occupation of Lebanon what is more important is that they have people coming out to protest against them without getting killed.
There are more Hezbollah and Syrian supporters at this point because of the suppression that has gone on since the occupation began.
What's important is there is democracy in action and this will be better for all.

what suppression?
if its democracy like in the us it will be worse for us all...

What makes you think people were getting killed before, anyway?
The civil war has been a while, and ever since that ended Lebanon has had like the most liberal press in the entire Middle East (excluding Israel).
I'd say you're in more risk of getting in trouble speaking your mind in Egypt than Lebanon.

I've been thinking the same thing since the car bombing. I heard a lot of the police in Lebanon don't want the Syrians to go, because if they do they're afraid there will be an uprising without the extra security they need.
Gee, who would want that to happen? :icon26:
