I'm working on an ASP project and one of the text boxes is called username. Firefox is auto completing this text box with the following entries (plus a few usernames that I use):
+JuggerNaut+
Deathshroud
John
R00k
SOAPboy
jester!

autocomplete works by auto-completing fields that have the same name, it just so happens that "username" is a very common name for the field of Username, what a coincidence.

I know the principal behind it. But why should it be filling in things I would never have typed on my computer? Those are names of a select few people who post here. The list should be local not web based.

Closed the tab, opened site again, now it only shows Josh.

I can't understand where firefox got those values from...

I wonder if those were all the people online in GD and somehow firefox transposed the data.

I get that every once in a while, too. Usernames from Q3W will show up in the autocomplete field.

Does it happen when you have Q3W up in a tab?

Sent PMs to any of those people?
FF remebered it because it has the same name as the Q3W PM form.

That could explain it but you would be told that the username is saved? Unless it's some glich or something, maybe an extention is causing it? Are you using something extra to save form information?

It's not a login box so FF won't ask you to remember it - it's just an autocomplete for all forms.

That would explain it, I have autocomplete off.

I dont think I've sent one to jester or signa. The weirdest part is that the list is just my usernames now.

I can't remember. But Q3W is loaded at least once during each session, since GD is my homepage.

When I use FF to edit people's accounts on this site, it always autofills the fucking form and messes everything up. Firefox can die

Go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Saved Forms and turn it off.

Save forms and autocompletion are fucking retarded anyway. They're the first things I disable when I first use a browser

It's only retarded on firefox. it fills in blanks without asking. with IE and Safari, you have to start typing and it will only fill in certain blanks

I do the same, it's quite annoying.
