Why do I hate the Democratic party?

So yet again this is what it's come to -- the democrats basing their political philosophy on whatever doesn't require too much backbone (the opposition party wouldn't want to be called obstructionists now!
! ), and insures they don't have to get in any kind of real disagreements with the republicans where they would be forced to try to defend their ideas.
Why do we need them at all? They exhibit nearly all the characteristics of the Bush administration, except with no spine or anything original to bring to the table.
