3 gold doesn't sound like much

can one of these guild things have a common pot, where you can buy stuff for lower-level members?

You wouldnt think 3 gold is much but Im at level 13 now and have yet to have even 50 silver over the course of my time playing and I think its 1 Gold = 100 Silver.

As for this tax thing, sounds fucked up to me, your getting raped pyramid scheme style. :icon26:

You know what's even more outrageous?

They charge you 10 real-life dollars just to play the fucking game.

I joined a guild that requested 3g at lvl 50. I stole 25g from them and fucked off. Excellent.

In WoW, I could easily make 100g in an hour. Just consider that.

Sure you could, but at what level? And how does that matter in regards to a group demanding payment and what reason is there, if gold is so easy to generate, to ask for such payment?

I have definitely heard of guilds forcing their members to donate something like 5g per week as "guild dues". Some guilds do this because there are certain expenses related to PvE raiding and these guilds feel that taxing their members is the best way to pay for these expenses. These are usually less established guilds who aren't very successful at PvE raiding.

I do quests and only grind for XP when i'm close to levelling. And donating any money I do get with throw back my aquisition of my mount by a considerable time.
As I only play my alts lately, I'd have to log my main just to grind away to make money to pay these taxes. And fuck that.

As a matter of fact, im tailoring and enchanting. Since I switched to enchanting my bank account got absolutely raped down to nothing. And i'm barely at 200 enchanting now. As a warlock I'm constantly buying drinks. And as I said, I don't play the bugger anymore anyway.

Its not to hard on the system though I dont think. p4 3gig, 1 gig of ram, 6600GT and its solid and looks decent to me.

I spend shit loads in the AH. Everytime I level I treat myself to an item that's my new level. I have excellent upto date gear but fuck all cash.

Also, the mount absolutely fucks you financially, and I also think it's out of order that 2 classes get a mount for free.

Um.. i dinged 40, had my normal mount.. i dinged 60, had my epic.. I didnt grind hard, i just didnt blow money in the AH every damn level..
Point is, 100G isnt much, and the 1000G one isnt to bad at 60

What does the mount do anyway other then get you around faster? Boost stats? Status symbol?
