I'm looking to get one for working out but I really don't want to go higher than 100 on a damn music box

are there any other good products out there other than the i-pod flavors?

how is the quality between mp3 players?

is the shuffle better quality and louder than any other similarly priced mp3 players?

my brother has the 1GB version and it sounds fine and gets plenty loud with your average track.

I just got myself an 1 Gb Shuffle, and the sound quality is better than my previous (lost/stolen) 20 Gb G4 iPod.

It's so simple and easy to use, it makes baby jesus cry.

is the lack of a disply an issue?

and is it true that you can turn shuffle off/on?

also can you fast forward trhough a song or does it only skips to the prev/next song?

also with the fm tunner, I bet it's a bitch trying to figure out what station freq. you're in

edit:
not to mention with 1 gig of space you're pretty much going with the shuffle option, since figuring out what song you want to play is borderig on silly

riddla wrote:$149 for the 1GB nano is a pretty good deal, considering the screen is worth the extra 50 bucks.
I know I am starting to think that

I know I am starting to think that
the click wheel alone is almost worth the $50.

I never look on a screen while I'm listening (on the move). I just toss the thing around my neck or in a bag, scratches aren't an issue. The nano is pretty stunning however.

Didnt the nano's have some issues with the screen breaking easily or whatever? Or has that been fixed?

I got a 1gig shuffle and yep I recommend it.

people were/are suing because it scratches easily. the newest Nano actually has a lip that's about 1mm high all around the front edge so if you lay it on its face on the table, the screen doesn't actually touch it.
