Fantastic read if you want to fix your Dpad, so it works like it should (i.e. like the game boy did 15 years ago).

I'm not getting Street Fighter, but i can think of a few games that would be sweet with this.

For those not in the know, the problem with the PSP D-Pad is that its just impossible to get diagonal movement with it. You have to really press hard and force it to work, other wise it just counts as "up" or "left/right", not "diagonal".

So all he really adds there is maybe 1 millimeter or so of additional height to the pad on the bottom side, correct? I'd try it, but am a bit unsure about taking the PSP apart.

Aye, thats all. And yeah, thats the part i'm sure everybody worries about. PSP's fail so easily, and i dont want to void any chance i have of getting a replacement.

However, this IS the problem, its that the bit undernieth is just to thin. Its easy to fix this with a new version model (Like how the PSP white had higher buttons and everything.)

I haven't played on a PSP white (Messed with one just not played any games on it), but do you think this problem is fixed? My mates got one, had the chance to swap his black for the white. I may have a quick go and see if its any better.

How long does sony honor the replacement for a stuck pixel agreement? Or do they do that at all? I heard that they being nice about that, and I've got a red pixel right in the middle portion of the screen - you don't notice it during some parts, but at other times you almost go crosseyed because it seems to draw your eyes right to it.

ONE? Mate i've got sevon of the fuckers, all dead WHITE, so anything other than bright areas stick out like a soar thumb.

I haven't bothered getting mine replaced yet, i was gonna when it launched but it was to much hassle then, and i jsut forgot about it. TBH I haven't played my PSP is a good few months, i've been glued to my DS.

Theres a new pinball game out for PSP now that supposed to be really good.

Tekken was announced for the PSP this year. Woot, thats reason enough for me to fix my d-pad. Only prob is Im sure it will require the latest, latest firmware, and I dont want to give up my emulation. I play it more than the psp games. :tear:

Tekken Advance was... Yeah :p

Although it did only use 4 buttons :p

Tekken PSP wouldn't be able to use the 4 shoulder buttons, only 2, but it SHOULD work.

Of course, it will only work right if it has a good frame rate, and so far PSP games have focussed more on the graphics than a smooth frame rate. I would rather have something that looks like Tekken 3 but with filtering, and smooth ,rather that something that looks like Tekken Tag but with 20FPS and lower...

what about trying the Street Fighter 3 Alpha Max PSP d-pad attachment?
