Simple question - laptop power supplies

Need to find a computer for someone to take to India. Apparently, all the power outlets in India are 220, vs. the standard 110 here in the states. If he were to buy a laptop in the states, would it just be a matter of getting a new power adapter for it to use over there?

Aye, i think all your friend would need is a new power adaptor. Well, according to my housemate anyway

yeah a new plug adapter.... the power invertor on almost all laptops convert voltage automatically. mine does..

just get a 220 ( euro ) to 110V adapter...
they usually come with plug adapters for all of the major Euro standards.
