i don't have the patience for RTS any more. RON was quite fun the few times i played it though, more fun than EE with those shitty prophet characters. AoK was my favourite

Best RTS ever. :icon14: I only play those special trigger and RPG-like maps though. They are lots of fun. Battle.net sucks big time though; such a poor system to host and to find/connect to online games. :/ That's probably a bigger reason for wanting a Starcraft 2 than wanting new gameplay and content. SC+Broodwar is simply brilliant in how it doesn't get boring at all, just like the Q3 weapons for instance.

Warcraft 3 has the best find/connect system, click 1 button and you play a random game.

The fact that the conceptual development of player behavior (i.e. strategy, tactics) still proceeds apace 7+ yrs out says a lot about the design excellence of SC.

I don't follow the competitive scene at all because i don't play enough to be able to participate without getting owned, but i supppose micro tactics would have to be evolving in all these years for the game to stay fun to play. I'm impressed by all those trigger maps anyway, new ones are made every day with new ideas or variations of classic trigger maps (defence maps). CTF StarFort is a nice trigger map for example.

RA2 is still my favorite. Although I've briefly played C&C Generals and it was tits.

Never played red alert 2, is it as good as 1?
