Yea, there are 'clean' versions, which is completely pointless.

I love for my kids to be able to listen to hardcore gangster rap and drive-by shootings, as long as words about sex are omitted and a nice clean-sounding beep is inserted in their place.

the censored versions only get sold in shit stores like walmart. if you're stupid enough to shop for music there, you probably don't want to hear all those naughty words anyway.

I think some of the ones from the "buy-one-get-8-free" places are censored as well. Columbia House or whatever. If that's still around, anyway.

yeah because all their music is censored and if you already done your homework, going to wal-mart for your music needs in a better price range is clearly stupid

Usually when they release a censored or clean version there isnt bleeps. The lyrics in the song are different. Take for instance David Banners new song 'Play'

Original:

Code: Select all

Cum girl, I'm tryna get your pussy wet
Work that, lemme see you drip sweat
Cum girl, I'm tryna get your pussy wet
Work that, lemme see you drip sweat
Gon play with it
Gon play with it
Gon play with it
Gon play with it
Gon play with it
Work that clit
Cum girl

Finger fuck your pussy like you want some, girl
Work it like a nigga straight licking on your pearl
I wanna see you cum in the middle of the dance floor
A nigga can't fuck, what you think your finger made for
I'ma beat that pussy up
You get it wet enough, I might lick it up
Lickey, lickey, lickey, like a peppermint swirl
Lick that clit
Cum girl
Uh, I wanna see your legs shake
Take you to the crib, we can fuck til the bed break
Uh, fuck you til your pussy ache
Think about the type right now, girl, mastur
(Uh uh) bate for a nigga, freak you in the clubs
stop worrying about them other hoes
It's me in your world
Work that clit
Cum girl
........

and clean

Code: Select all

Run girl, Im trynna get your body wet
Work that, lemme see you drip sweat
Run girl, Im trynna get your body wet
Work that, lemme see you drip sweat
Don't play with me
Don't play with me
Don't play with me
Don't play with me
Don't play with me
Work them hips
Run girl

Touch on your body like you want some girl
Work it like your boy just bought you a pearl
I wanna see you run in the middle of the dance floor
Your man named Buck, what you think your finger made for
And Ima beat it on up
You get it wet enough, and I might lick it up
Lickey lickey lickey like a peppermint swirl
Work them hips
Run girl
Uh, I wanna see your legs shake
Take you to the crib, we can jump till the bed breaks
Uh, we can jump till your body ache
Think about the type but right now, girl, mastur
(Uh uh) bate for you boy, freak you in the clubs
Stop worrying about them other hoes
Its me in your world
Work them hips
Run girl
....
There is a song called 'fucking' on the explicit and 'touching' on the clean lol

That's so fucked up though -- to change nearly every word and turn it into a completely different song, just to hit the 'clean' audience?

It's even more fucked up that parents who are opposed to the dirty version will still allow their kids to listen to this:

Code: Select all

Touch on your body like you want some girl
Work it like your boy just bought you a pearl
I wanna see you run in the middle of the dance floor
Your man named Buck, what you think your finger made for

edit: If that version can get a normal (clean) rating, then that's pretty messed up too.

Walmart does censor all their music. And there are plenty of places to find music cheaper.

I like the fact that "masturbate" is in both explicit and clean versions

My bet is the lyric's are changed just enough to get rid of that "parental advisory" sticker on the front. I’m sure most parents see “clean” version and allow their kids to get it without thinking twice. It's marketing genius.
