A paper on the universe.

So, I could use some help. I have to write a paper on how the universe was created, but I can tie in anything else related to it (various tests, projects, theories, etc.)

I thought I'd ask for help, cause I'm not very knowledgeable in this field, neither do I know all the relevant terminology due to the fact that English isn't my first language, so maybe you could point out a few things/aspects I could/should write about, and if you have some links about it on-hand, it would be greatly appreciated too.

I'm not hosting them myself, I just traced back through the various layers directly to the akamai host. That way you can right-click, save as and watch later. I did that for a long trip. I watched them on my laptop w/o an Internet connection.

What the bloody hell? Are you joking?

I suggest you read a book called "The Dancing Wu-Li Masters". It's got a lot of good stuff in it about the creation of the universe. As well, check out Scrooge's Cryptic Carol : Visions of Energy, Time, and Quantum Nature. Follows the Scrooge story with a twist. Instead of getting lectured on whatever the fuck Scrooge got lectured on originally, the ghosts lecture him on quantum physics and other neat shit. There's a lot of stuff in that book about the first couple seconds of the universe's existance. Check 'em both out.

deji - perhaps you can explain how the laws of physics allow people to run 1 km in 70 seconds.

(haven't heard from u in the other thread!)

yea, that'd be an impressive sprint considering olympic times for the 800m are around 103sec. shit, that pace would destroy the world record in the 100m... much less 1000m.

Look up stuff on COBE. Or read "Before the Beginning" by Martin Reese. Great, great book and will be a great reference.

check out books by Stuart Kaufmann, while you're at it. I can personally recommend "At Home in the Universe," but "Origins of Order" and "Investigations" could also be fun if you have the time/interest.
Or if you want to have a laugh at your teacher's expense, read something by Per Bak and use self-organized criticality as your starting point. Nothing's funner than scientific tautologies!
