K, setting up the server now, but I need some map suggestions for the cycle.
I need 10 maps!

Oh and the IP is:

No custom maps up yet.

Is it OSP or CPMA or what?

Here I have a new alpha, but the alpha stage isn't even finished. I want to take the chance to put it into public testing though. Proper Vis caluclation, well lit and items/playerstart are placed.


So here (Alpha-to-Pre-Beta) you go.

I just cobbled together a program/batch script which can automatically download and install whatever maps are needed to play on the server.

Would there be any interest in a one-click program that will do this? Or are people OK with waiting to download from the server/finding the files manually?

Actually here, check it out:

All you do is unzip and run the SyncMaps.bat file. If your Q3 installation is NOT in c:\program files\quake iii arena\ then you'll need to edit the .bat file to point to the right folder.

When you run it, it'll download the necessary PK3s (I put my and sumatra's levels up as a quick test) straight into your \baseq3\ folder ready for play. At its core it's just an RSS program I found reading a feed I created. Only instead of MP3s it gets PK3s.

I think it needs a better server config - right now it won't accept custom name colors (mine was ff^ etc in other servers it works fine) and it didn't accept the custom osp hud (I have it smaller, and in an autoexec.cfg, it should initialize on every osp server).

And how about allowing -40 nudge for those not on the old continent?

huh? I can use custom hud. Sure it wasn't set to CPM settings? OSP CPM forces a specific hud.

Yeah, actually it was. I did unvote, then I reconnected and it stayed the same (it was vq3) but the same hud, so I thought something's wrong... so I take you need to callvote the osp cfg somehow after unvoting promode?
