deep blue is a chess playing machine - i'm talking about a newer one. I think it's still in development.
Check out this wired article - it's where i first read about it:

Faster than the earth simulator?

BlueGene/L is about 280 TeraFlops #1 (2005)
BlueGene 2 is 91 TeraFlops #2 (2005)
NEC Earth-Simulator is very old, made in 2002 and it's only 35 TeraFlops #7

Try the thing at the bottom it's really odd.
That's pretty crazy, I wasn't aware of the blind spot.
Anybody try out the java mapper thing? Apparently this is how big my blind spot is, from about 9 inches away from the monitor:

Yup, mine looks about the same but it also depends how close you are to the monitor. Kinda odd how your brain fills in the missing area, if there is a pattern it should finish the pattern. :icon28:

Haven't heard of it, can't find any info do u have a link by any chance? However I doubt that the first quantum computers will be able to beat a supercomputer doing 250+ teraflops.
