Is there a help file anywhere for this vnc thing?

It looks like you have to install the VNC app on both PC's in order to veiw the other desktop. Is there an app that will let you see someones desktop, on the same network, without installing the app on their PC?

This would be a great way to catch suspected cheaters at a LAN party.

How come nobody has mentioned remote desktop from Network and Internet Connections in Control Panel in Windows XP. Is it too hard to configure compared to TightVNC?

Just think about this for a second dude. The very functionality you're after would represent a MASSIVE security breach for any PC that allowed it.

So in short, no. However,if you run a domain, require users to connect to that domain, and have the domain administrator set as an administrator of the PCs (I can't remember if XP has this by default, probably so) then you have the ability to check up on that PC, yes.

Otherwise obviously no.

wow, now i don't even have to roll my chair to the other side of the room to change something on my server.

I may give my monitor to my parents to save space now.

tip:

Set your server to boot without a keyboard or mouse, install VNC, run a cat5 cable to someware that wont bother you or someone else ( usually colset's and etc ) plug the tower in, then the CAT5, and bam! no buggin froms the server :)
