U.S. officials, allied with Europe and Canada in taking Iran to the UN body, don’t rule out using the military option to end what they see as “Nuclear Threat”.
Oh boy. That's alot of power right there

Iran, which holds 10 percent of the world's oil reserves, produces around four million barrels a day (b/d) and exports 2.4 million-2.6 million b/d, mainly to Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan and Europe.
exports over which the US has no control, which is what this is really all about, having their hands on the taps
oh, and there's this of course, the iranian bourse:
Recently oil experts in the U.S. raised concerns over Iran's trading oil in Euros. Iran started trading oil with its European and Asian partners using the Euro which means that without some form of U.S. intervention, the euro will establish a firm foothold in the international oil trade, an obvious encroachment on U.S. dollar supremacy in the international oil market, given the U.S. debt levels.
could the real motives behind all this pressure on iran be more transparent?

geoff's politics threads can go one of two ways: either they turn into an interesting discussion, or they get reflexively spammed by pavlovian geoff-haters. thanks to idiots like you, it's often the latter

yea it's good that geoff doesn't know what spam is

are you a fricken moron?
modern wars arent about standing foot soldeirs but war machines like planes/carriers/submarines/choppers
and if you think korean can out do us plane to plane and boat to boat then god bless
troops are more used for occupying AFTER that nation got owned
even if korea wanted to try and attack us with their "bigger" army they wouldnt make it 50 miles off their own coast before being obliterated
the USA would slaughter north korea gulf war style by superior convertional weapons (no nukes)
taking out their hard targets will be like shooting fish in the bucket with cruise missles from ships and subs and aerial bombing
can any nation on earth today stand up the USA in an all out conventional war? HELL NO and dont even bother arguing it because its as good as common knowledge among anyone with a clue about modern war dynamics

well lets see...n korean could easily load thousands of troops on cargo ships, or have them infiltrate the mexican boarder and they could seize cities with a sneek attack commandos etc etc...the homeland is not secured at all for this shit...then what will our 300k troops abroad do to stop it?
