If you were buying a computer not for gaming, just office internet, iTunes, and digital photos and were a cheap bastard would you consider this a fair price?

FYI System is built and awaiting pickup, the MOBO has SATA headers already for future upgrades.
Also $366 was over his budget

a little more would have broke the bank
He just pissed me off a little with some of his actions...
Like the cost was 366.69 and he wrote me a check for $365.00. Then he says cant you throw in one of these cool keyboards and laser mouse pointing to the ones on my desk costing more than his whole PC.
If I didn't sell him my old used stuff in a new case I would feel a little pissed

If I had a keyboard and mouse worth more than $365, I'd top myself... unless it was a keyboard that had key with individual OLED displays

you obviously didnt pay a fair price for your laser mouse and cool keyboard

Sounds like you've got too much PSU for that system. And do you really need a wireless NIC?
You might have cut a few bucks off the price.

no, just some dude at work. 3 years ago I sole hime an
AMD K6-2 500MHz
256mb ram
SB Live
Voodoo 3
20 Gig drive
Windows 2k
Office 2k
For about $300
Gave him support every 6 monts to a year, which wasn't bad total of like 10 hours work over 3 years time and replaced one PSU for free since I had it laying around.
He came and asked for something faster and I wanted to get rid of my sempron and upgrade so I made the deal. Like I said I sold him my 1 year old mobo and processor that I bought for $89.00 put it in a shiny new case, got some other parts I had laying around, shined them up and blamo instant $366.00 system.
There was no other way I could hook the poor guy up for that cheap, but I con't believe I actually felt bad for him at first.

Done to his needs, he really needed a wireless NIC and I got the PSU and the Case for $45.00 so I am guessing it's really not that much PSU

wow, you really are full of shit in every post.
care to back that up?
an SATA drive in that guy's system is not going to improve performance to ANY appreciable degree vs an equivalent PATA drive.
go ahead, prove me wrong jackass.
feel free to peruse this list of drives, a mixture of PATA and SATA which all have similar performance.

You should've recommended him to wait for quantum computers...

WTF are you laughing at? He said he was trying to build a cheap computer. The specs he listed wouldn't come near to needing a 480watt PSU. Since a 300watt PSU would be cheaper, I made the suggestion of too much PSU.

lol, don't talk yourself up so much bro. I don't care if the interface is 1TB/s it isn't going to matter if the drive is only spitting out data at 60 MB/s.
You sir are the fucking idiot. It's common knowledge that the performance gain of SATA is is not realized by 1 single drive which doesn't even max out a 100MB/s Ultra ATA connection. Everyone knows this. Stop being so high and mighty, your ass is owned just admit it.

NONE of which are going to improve that system to a degree that someone could tell a difference.
SATA is fine and dandy, and will be great in a couple years when storage media can utilize it better, or if you use very fast drives or RAID, but for this system it just isn't going to help at all. Stop now while you're behind.

Why are you being such a pompous dickhead?
Why do you assume that I don't know about the performance characteristics of hard drives?
Just because I posted one link to back up my claim don't delude yourself into thinking that I know nothing else about this shit you moron. I'm just not going to spend more time than that to prove you wrong, which I already did. So ya crawl back into your hole and die.
