Why is basketball so stupid

I never play because it is a pussy sport, but today i was forced to play and jesus christ this game is for babies. it is the only sport (besides baseball) where you can't attack the person with the ball, or the ball itself. how gay is that.
Typical situation:
I am standing there, between the guy with the ball and the basket. he runs into me, and calls a foul so i say fuck you how is that a foul, then everyone starts arguing, all the while i am telling them to play a real sport like soccer or hockey and stop being a bunch of nancy's

you were obviously playing basketball with whiney fags.
the last time i played it someone got a broken nose because someone else threw the ball at their face, play continued as normal with no foul.

most people play it like bitches though. or as i like to call it, "schoolyard basketball"

Basketball can be fun to play depending on who you're playing with.
Watching it on the other hand is complete shit.
It's great exercise though, just don't play it with pussies who want to call foul for everything.
Besides, if he had the ball and ran into you, it's not a foul anyway, if you were planted.

I don't hate baseball, but I hate watching it unless I'm actually at a game, and I hate all the striking and drama that comes from the pros.
Professional baseball is about money just like all the other professional sports, it doesn't have anything to do with any kind of American values.

it was a joke, though i do quite love the game of baseball. mlb baseball....ehhhh more of a love/hate relationship. nice to finally be rewarded as a red sox fan though.

I dont see how anyone is dumb enough to 'barely play' a sport but think they have any basis for the opinion that 'it's for babies'.

Basketball is fun to play if you know how, watching sports on the other hand is boring.

I played basketball for 3 years at high school, at an intermediate level.
Did I rate basketball? Not particularly. I'd put badminton over basketball in the preference list, which should tell you something.
Do I respect the game? Absolutely. Sports aren't like art, where one does not have to be picasso to offer criticism. With sport you have to be able to accomplished before you can judge anything beyond the individual game instances you took part in.
