All the pc games I've bought in the past year have 4-5 cds. Installation has gone fucking gay, when are dvd pc games going to come into the market? I'm sick and tired of all these cds, it's rediculous. If there are dvd versons of pc games, i haven't been able to find them.
Two games set this off, nfs: most wanted and fear.
5 cds, what a fucking joke.

DVD Edition according to the label you can see on the case
What I could see on the net indicated that FEAR was also available on DVD, but I haven't found an image for you.
Where do you buy your games?

It's not so bad, considering I have a 2 disk drives, but still, not all games give you the option to browse for another installation directory.

lots of dvd versions in dutcholand actually
i read that (for instance) 2k games dont use DVDs because a lot of people dont read the labels and are under the impression that theyre buying cd versions (because they dont have a dvd drive).
so in order to cut down on returns, they simply make sure itll work for everyone, even the stupid

What I hate is when they combine the DVD edition and the collectors edition. So it's either pay extra or have a ton of CDs.

That's precisely why console gaming is the only way to go

Lol, you do know that gate's vision for direct-x 10 is just, install x-10, take the game, put it in the drive, it runs, no wait, no install like consoles...

Most games are released on DVD here now too, as in DVD version only.

Thats quite cool, but on PC's the load time would be awful. Plus it kicks modders it the balls.

well obviously SOME files would need to be written to the HD
but what would be the point anyway, with 500GB HDs available?
