Just an FYI for anyone not using this combo, or even just free Download Manager alone.

32MB in 30 seconds

Flashgot is one of the top Mozilla Extensions, I nailed it a few weeks ago wen having issues getting a file, you need to use it in conjunction with a download manager program. I chose Free Download manager. It works like most other D/L managers splits the download up into pieces and logs into the site to get it as many times as it will allow. also can be resumed if your download gets cut off.

The only annoyance is a message that pops up after a few days and asks you to place their link on your website. You can turn it off forever with one click.

i'd really appreciate an eMule plug-in that jumps me to the top of everyone's queue, only if no one else has it :icon14:

The problem with download managers is that many servers have issues with them, meaning they don't want people to connect 10 times to download a single file. They often ban ips that try doing that. Most places now also force you to login before downloading (fileplanet)

Also with fast connections, I'm not so sure we need download managers. Look at your download list, the biggest thing you have is 32mb, that would take only a few minutes even on my crappy connection.

Furthermore what do you really download that's more then 100mb? Maybe a demo or something? Web sites don't have enough material worthy of download, it's all on torrents anyways.

If I get a slow download I just do index.of filename.zip in Google and find another source.

the original purpose for the D/L manager is the ability to continue downloads that got cutoff halfway through, the speed is just a bonus

That hardly happens, but I guess I can see your point. (sometimes I want to pause a big download to play a game because I'm bored of waiting.)

Give the DownTheMall extension a whirl gh, less bulk.

I'm finding I barely ever do large HTTP downloads anymore either, BT replaces it for the most part.
