iPod Video question

How do you sync the videos to the iPod, and what format do they have to be in?

My roommate has one, and we can't get the videos to upload. They are in iTunes, under Videos, already. But in the left pane where it shows the contents of the iPod, there is no Videos folder, so I don't even know where to look to make sure they have copied.

But manually updating the iPod doesn't do anything either. I checked the Preferences, and it is set to upload all videos.

Suggestions?

buy quicktime pro - its the easiest way to go - pretty lame that they 'force' you to do so though.

i don't think it's lame. compared to the 4G(?)'s price you're getting video, 30GB's instead of 20GB, a bigger display, and a slimmer profile.

not much to whine about imo.

I think he's talking about QTP. Yes it is lame, and yes it takes 8 million fucking years to convert, but it does work.

Is that really Apple's solution to play videos on their iPod Videos? To buy their software?

Yes. I'm so happy I didn't buy mine, cuz I'd tell them to fuck themselves, as it is, I'd like to tell them to fuck themselves.

Meh, rip QT pro off. For additional points, also head into town wearing your 'pod and stylish earbuds, and steal a whole bunch of candy from kids. Make sure everyone, including their parents, know it was some kid wearing an ipod.

For bonus points, record the whole thing then edit it so you appear as a black silhouette against a striking backdrop.

I'm still trying to find a reason to buy an ipod.

I just can't seem to come up with one.

videora works wonderfully if you have lots of videos files to convert. the convert queue feature is great.... means I can queue all my videos to convert and let it run in the background.

i thought it would be too small myself, but it's larger than i thought it'd be and the detail is very good.

If you want to buy videos other than the ones we'll sell you, then you need to buy our software to do it.

I think that's pretty lame. It's not an "iTunes Store Products Viewer" it's an iPod Video.

If I found out I had to buy software to put mp3's on my iPod after I bought it, I'd think that was pretty lame too.
