Quake 4 expansion possible?

I just beat the single player mode in quake 4 and the ending seemed like there was going to be a sequel, I'd post it but I dont want to spoil the surprise for people who plan on beating and havent though. But for those who have do you think a quake 4 expansion would be in the works?

I think it's good business practice to always leave open the possibility of sequels/addons. I wouldn't doubt it if there were.

I think it's pretty obvious from the end scene that, after beating the Makron, Matthew Kane has more work to do. :)

I hope we dont play as Kane again. Being a strogg could of opened up a shit load of cool things we could do that wouldn't make sense as a human, but nothing... We just ran faster and... stuff...

Was a shame.

We should play as a new marine IMHO. I feel anyways.

Anyways, checklist for an expansion;

* No vehicle sections. If you must, then at least make them GOOD. The vehicles fucking sucked in Quake 4, so dull....

* Add some water and lava for gods sake. I find it hard to believe that in the space of a few hours, Stroggos would be drained of all water and lava.

* Make it more like Quake 2. Bring back some old location designs, such as lava-ish tombs, big open watery sewers, space sections etc. Also bring back some more classic model designs, like the old parasites, the flyers, the mutants. Great weapons too, like the chaingun instead of the nailgun, the super shotgun etc etc...

* Add a few more MP modes. Christ, this was supposed to be the big thing to take Quake 3's crown, and it had LESS than Quake 3.

If we get an expansion pack before they unfuck the multiplayer im gonna fly to raven HQ and go on a rampage, it won't be pretty.

The art direction of the q4 exansion pack should at least resemble Quake II.

Some of the monsters (like that big retarded blue and green mechanican monster thing) in Quake 4 look _nothing_ like anything out of Quake 2. The locations don't either. And the marines are incredibly dull.

They look like something out of Halo, seriously. Stereotypical gay-looking marines (no offense).

You also are treated like a freak by your comrades and face heavy distrust. It´s part of the story. But I agree that they could have done much more with it gameplay-wise.

Agreed, the generic scifi look of the marines and weapons in Q4 was disappointing.

See the original marine designs? Fuckin hell... They looked like Quake 2 marines crossed with the Aliens marines, They had that "I am the ultimate bad ass" look to them... Plus I believe they had helmits too... Helmits...

What good is a fucking soldier in a war with no helmit? May as well send him in with a white vest and shoes fir feet smaller than his sisters...


Thye did do a few things oddly, i mean, the Quake 2 marines looked fucking great. big ass marines, massive bulky armour, and the weapons all had these great designs, great potential, just not reached because of the technology back in the day. Like a Shotgun with that barrel under it for shells, great stuff. I can only imagine that gun with its lights blinking away in the dark, running out of shells, then popping the barrel off and slapping in a new one... Instead we get... erm... A bog standard shotgun. With a UI. Weeeeee!!

I did like the whole racist thing. But "Squibb?" wtf is a Squibb lol. Anyways,

its just like they had good ideas but took the easy way out... When i became a strogg, i could understand what the random voices said, and "some" screens, but 90% of the UI's were still strogg? And all of the enemy voices were still strogg...? Eh...?

I can, easily, i just feel that when you make a follow up to a game, you keep the classic stuff in and improve the crap. Like Halo and Halo 2, Halo 2 sucked in a few ways because they just messed with things they shouldn't of. Like the SMG's...? What was that about?

If they didn't want to stick to the design and style of Quake 2, they should of just made "Generic First Person Future Shooter". Nobody would of known the difference.

Bring back the grunt and the female skins from quake 2. Isn't Quake 4 a sequel to Quake 2? An expansion pack with thoes models would make the game even better. they bought back ranger for Quake 3 and that was a Quake 1 skin.

You should play as the quake 2 marine if they make a new expansion, and kane's strogg chip should turn on so he becomes the new makron imo. And new multiplayer stuff as well.

Beh, old. You had to kill that Sarge guy in D3 too. Killing old friends sux. Perhaps it'd be nicer if Kane would just go on owning the strogg (big installations blowing up etc.) while you're another marine on the sideline doing other stuff (rescue missions or smthg).

gee wiz.. they did? how awful.. :shrug: as far as i'm concerned there is no quake in quake2 and quake4.. i should start a petition for renaming q2 and q4 in something like "a badass first person shooter vaguely inspired from teh greatest of all times 1 & 2". kekekeke ^_^

on the other hand, quake3 is another story.. :) :icon31:
