Weekend #4 and it's finally done. It was quite the undertaking. I certainly didn't expect it to be this much work. But now it's done and done right. Especially since we live in Florida and have hurricanes every year.

Pics aren't showing.

btw, got my wiring done and all is well.

if i had that house when i was a nipper my thomas the tank engine tent would have no use

That kids gonna be talking about the cool fort his dad built for the rest of his life.

It has an insulated ceiling and walls. It's also wired for electricity. So the inside should stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter (not like Florida has much of a winter).

I still have to install the light and power outlets.

nice gramps.... would have loved one of those as a kid, I'm sure he's got to be stoked.

I may do a little more work to the inside, like a built-in fold-down table and some shelves.

He's already been yammering away about it for weeks at preschool. So much that the teachers are asking to see pictures.

That's cool. I would have loved to have been living somewhere where I could have done that, but in a huge tree.

Yeah, big trees are few and far between in this area. My son said he wanted a tree house, and this is as close as I could get.

Used to have one of those when I was a kid. It was great fun, and home to about 1,000,000,000 lacewings.

His club house is pretty well sealed. It has screened windows. The doors and windows have been lined with silicone caulk. All of the corners and edges have been filled with expansion foam. His club house has been built to last through everything the tropical environment of this state has to offer.
