I knew they were detaining terror suspects without trial but I didn't know their names.

My friend's dad was one of these "suspected terrorists" that was shipped off without trial to a detention center in another country. He was there for around 7 months or so. Basically his parents were from somewhere in the Middle East but had moved to the States when my friend was born. His dad was visiting relatives back from his home, but his passport expired while he was there. He was arrested on his way back and was then placed into the suspected terrorist program. I don't know any of the exact details of what happened to him though, nor why he was let out. What I do know is that the family moved to Canada and attempted to bring it up in courts. This was back in 2002 though, so I guess it didn't do any good
One of the really shitty things about it is the fact that his family and friends back here in the US had no idea what had happened to him during that time.
