those new fun-fangled dual-sided discs

you know, the ones that are a cd on one side, and a dvd on the other? wtf is up with these? i'm trying to rip one to my computer right now and i keep getting read and synch errors up the ass. i'm using eac and have the accuracy and error corrections settings to the max and every 2 seconds a new error occurs. though the song playback seems just fine once it finishes, it just sucks how it takes like 30 minutes to rip a single track.

hym. good question. i use EAC, but have never tried a hybrid using it.

EAC seems to have trouble with some kinds of copy protection. CDEX can usually take care of that.

gotta run to work but i'll check out that CDEX when i get back home tonight.
oh and now im up to 40 mins on this one track and only about 35% complete on extracting the audio for it. woohoo!

well cdex took care of it no problem. thanks for the suggestion. i actually discovered a flaw in the ripping settings i had been using with eac which accounts for this odd fluttering i had noticed for a long time and thought it was my speakers only. now i have thousands of songs to re-rip. fuck.

Whenever I try to rip a cd, it gets alot of clips. What could be the cuase of this problem, and how can I fix it? Don't tell me "set it to slowest speed" because I've tried this and there isn't any improvement. I've also tried running nothing but the ripping program (CDEX) and it still happens. I even get them when just playing directly from the CD. It's not the CD though because it'll works fine in other players and it'll even happen with brand new CDs. This has REALLY been bugging me because nobody I've talked to about it has expereienced this problem.

try another drive.
