NHL salary cap expected to rise

So what else is new? Just a few months into getting hockey back they begin fucking with it. Greed is again going to rear its ugly head...it just might take longer this time. So maybe the next lockout will happen in 5 years instead of 2.
I've said from the start that the problem with the NHL is the owner's inability to control their spending. The player's wallets get fat so they in turn think they actually deserve all that money...and more. Eventually the salary cap will be too much for some teams. Then the owners with the biggest vault will once again try to spend more and more each year in an effort to buy a championship.
And the cycle will continue where the weakest financial teams end up being the weakest on the ice, more teams will fold and more Americans will buy Canadian teams.
Seriously...would you trust this man to do what's right for the sport instead of trying to make the quickest buck?

Says the yank who, like the rest of his countrymen, can't follow anything faster than baseball.

I'm sure it's the pre-game fireworks that get you in the stands.
Yep....bright lights and loud bangs....that kind of low-brow entertainment is all that a redneck can handle between dumps.

I wish these fucking heathens down here would get with the program. At least they have a hockey team, but they're over in Raleigh.

thankfully its NHL. nhl is insanely dull to watch i think. Olympic hockey early next year, however, will be pretty cool. The different rink size actually makes the games enjoyable to watch IMO.

bah. what other sports do you enjoy watching? also, with this year's rule changes, the game is more exciting than ever, imo.

That's what I was gonna say. The NHL turned boring with the advent of defensive gameplay and stifling rules which didn't allow the game to be end to end like the Edmonton Oilers' glory days.
I'm glad to see they finally opened up the game.
And remember people...if you're too slow to follow what's going on in a hockey game Fox will always be willing to put a glow effect around the puck.

i REALLY despised that when i saw it in the past. please tell me they don't do that anymore.
i think alot of people are just put off because of the fact that they have no idea what the rules are. once you know the basic rules, it makes it so much more enjoyable for the noob, especially once they understand offsides. so for most Americans, this isn't a sport you grew up playing, so there are alot of people in the dark when it comes to hockey, unfortunately.
