he's the cut and run president who gives in to the terrorists...
[White House]
The object of terrorism is to try to force us to change our way of life, is to force us to retreat, is to force us to be what we're not. And that's -- they're going to fail. They're simply going to fail.
[AP]
President Bush has personally authorized a secretive eavesdropping program in the United States more than three dozen times since October 2001, a senior intelligence official said Friday night.

This is explicitly illegal, there seems to be little question of that. Yet in his recent speech he says he will continue domestic spying without judicial oversight.
He criticized the NYTimes for releasing this story claiming it damages national security, yet the Times waited an entire year before publication upon request from the White House. I suppose he expected indefinite silence.

"The activities I have authorized make it more likely that killers like these 9/11 hijackers will be identified and located in time," Bush said. "And the activities conducted under this authorization have helped detect and prevent possible terrorist attacks in the United States and abroad."
I don't think he should refer to this anymore.

Since then, America's law enforcement personnel have used this critical law to prosecute terrorist operatives and supporters, and to break up terrorist cells in New York, Oregon, Virginia, California, Texas and Ohio.
so how many people have actually been found guilty in a court of law of plotting acts of terrorism in the US?

"Look, I don't know, maybe I haven't made myself completely clear, so for the record, here it is again," said the Lord, His divine face betraying visible emotion during a press conference near the site of the fallen Twin Towers. "Somehow, people keep coming up with the idea that I want them to kill their neighbor. Well, I don't. And to be honest, I'm really getting sick and tired of it. Get it straight. Not only do I not want anybody to kill anyone, but I specifically commanded you not to, in really simple terms that anybody ought to be able to understand."
Worshipped by Christians, Jews, and Muslims alike, God said His name has been invoked countless times over the centuries as a reason to kill in what He called "an unending cycle of violence."
"I don't care how holy somebody claims to be," God said. "If a person tells you it's My will that they kill someone, they're wrong. Got it? I don't care what religion you are, or who you think your enemy is, here it is one more time: No killing, in My name or anyone else's, ever again."

So far....with all the thousands of suspects, wiretaps, satellite recon and billions of dollars spent...I think two or three....if any.

After watching that...and listening to the "reasoning" of the White House faithful all I could wonder is if MQ4 and gramps could possibly come to the same conclusions.
I think this quote says it all:
Whenever a Presidential apologist is backed into a corner by the facts-they always seem to come up with some lame- brain "what if" scenario to justify the indefensible.
I remember both MQ4 and gramps saying shit like "well...if one of those evil bastards fires off a nuke in 300 years don't say I didn't tell you so". :icon27:

"..after the war, we go back to recognising the limits of government"
not much that can be done to repair the damage done to the stability of global security by this rogue administration, but their public execution would be a good start.

Agreed.
I was also wondering when he said "..after the war, we go back to recognising the limits of government"...it's ridiculous...why would those in power want to give it up?
It goes completely against what the constitution stood for (I use past-tense because its worthless these days) and why the founding fathers wanted to get away from too much control in the hands of a few nitwits that were disconnected from the common man's reality.
I say let the US become a dictatorship. Then after a few politically motivated assassinations the people will wake up to what's happening....maybe.
