This is a Dutch band and tbh I quite love this song to death atm.

The piano play by Wibi Soerjadi is quite astounding in combination with the poprock :)

Was wondering what you people think of it...

Decent song but it feels too over-produced. There's no raw emotion in his voice. I really enjoy songs like this but they have to have feeling and this one doesn't seem to. I think what really irks me about the song is that the lyrics seem very depressing but yet the music and his vocals seem to be more upbeat.

Here's a similar song that kinda captures what I'm saying.

lol Di-rect :olo:

edit:
admittedly, this song isn't too bad, but bitWISE is right, it feels over produced. Too rounded off.

I hear what you're saying about the singer's voice not being in it all the way, but I think the piano more than makes up for it. His voice becomes background and I hear the piano talking to me, if that makes any sense.

Good song.

Question though. If it's a Dutch band, why is he singing in english?

He doesn't sound like he's got an accent or anything, more to the point. I was just curious.

You know that sound you make when you clear your throat? Yeah, that's what Dutch sounds like.

Sounds like fucking dream theater, with a bit of muse thrown in.

I would like to point out, though, complaining about studio gloss on a very heavily compressed, low bitrate track is retarded

i don't care for the singer. the song's ok. and lol at the "it's overproduced" comments considering this has absolutely NO dynamics thanks to its medium.

on second thought, alot of you have ONLY .mp3's so you won't know what dynamics are anyway. nevermind.

What I'm saying is it sounds like they took the song and glossed it over until there was no longer any meaning left. Like the song was made with the intention of being a hit.

Do you bullshit people in the real world about audio quality as much as you do on here? I'm always glad to learn something new but you typically sound arrogant about it rather than informative.

agreed with the overproduced part.....it's not like a slick, smooth, RnB song. If it sounds overproduced, it's because of the interplay of the guitars and the piano. The guy playing the piano is classically schooled, part of the charm IMO.

bullsh1t people? you're telling me you cannot tell a difference between compressed music and not? give me a break.

regarding the song, NOW i see where you're coming from. you mentioned OVERproducing which means exactly what it sounds like. you're just talking about another song/band that's the corporate's vision of what good music is. that's marketing, not production.

i agree. the keys really take hold of the listener and takes away from everything else. in this case, this is the only good part of the song, so that's ok.

Good guess Sherlock. It's a commercial rock band with young guys appealing to young girls.

Um, to clarify what I mean with overproduced. Maybe I used the wrong term, but what I ment with it is that it sounds like someone wrote the song, up to every single note and how each note should sound. Then they played that in the studio, concentrating more on making it sound the way it was supposed to sound than making it sound natural.

It's not about audio quality, just that the way the music sounds makes me feel all inspiration was sucked right out of them.

Sounds like your standard boy-band crap, with some classical piano thrown in to me.

So yes, it's probably written and produced by major label industry writers and producers, that's why it sounds so slick.
