Yep, I watched it, and then looked up bugattis website. They've got it there under concept cars. If clarkson raves about a car, you know it's good. It's a great looking car. Although I prefer the look of a lambo or even a tvr like this one:

Yer, I love the look of that car. Takes the idea of crisp contours and lines and sodomises it with raw practicality.
Kinda like the dodge viper.

I don't think the stigs allowed to drive it :/. He wasn't able to take it around the track, even though he'd a better driver than clarkson i'd imagine.
An amazing car though. I loved this comment:
"So we're currently doing 80mph. And according to this, we're using 50 bhp. Soo... that's only 950 to go then!"

I think the Veyron is one of the ugliest cars ever
That TVR is brilliant to look at though.

No Stig lap in the actual episode. I suspect that the Stig did drive it and it actually gave obscenely low times. They might be waiting to show the lap until the end of the show so other cars can temporarily occupy the top of the leader board.

Saw the show. It was great.
Anyone know if spec-wise the veyron would beat the fastest production motorcycle in the quarter-mile?

The Maserati MC12 is still at the top of the power lap time board, right? The Veyron should be able to beat it easily. The only cars I know that have gone quicker were the Renault F1 (R24) and the DBR9.
The Veyron may have 1000 bhp, but I don't expect it to go quicker than the R24, because it's much heavier and doesn't handle quite as well. It might have a better shot at the DBR9's time, but even I doubt that.

They also tested the sagaris on top gear last night, and it beat the best time of a viper.

Being 4WD too I don't think it's the best car for slinging around corners, just on the straights it may make up for it, but they'll never be able to use the full potential of the car on the lap anyway.

Not quite sure what to make of the bodywork at the rear...looks a bit unfinished. Fantastic looking car, though. Very reminiscent of the '67 Ferrari 250 GTO, with some brutish Viper influence thrown in. Gorgeous.
