Gruesome suicide methods

Someone posted this at a music forum I go to in a thread asking how much everyone thinks about their own death. There's some unbelievable descriptions here.
It's all quite depressing. I have no idea how anyone has the guts to even contemplate trying to top themselves.
Julios, you'll probably enjoy reading this.

" . Shotgun or not (and I believe bullets exist which perform like a shotgun shell), if you angle too high into the roof of your mouth you can blast through your sinuses and eyes or frontal lobe and survive but virtually destroying your face, vision or affect respectively. This is a horrid survival and not uncommon. Now if you aim too low, perhaps deep throating the barrel you will likely miss the brain altogether and if in the midline transect your spinal cord (which could be fatal without intervention) or if to the side various airway soft tissue damage. "
:icon20:
Even quake 4 suicide!
" I recalled a homeless person firing a nail gun in between his eyes with not effect. The nail missed everything and lodged in the middle of the brain, so midline brain could be ineffective. I vote probable no here too. "

One of the guys where I work jumped out of his work truck going down the highway at 70 mph. I'd say that'd be pretty gruesome when they went back to find him.

"there was a terrible incident that happened here in my town about six months ago, where a woman who was training at a firing range experienced a recoil so powerful that she killed somebody by actually having her hands with the gun whip over and behind her head. "

That's ripped from one of Damien Hurst's books (or vice versa) only his had pictures done in a similar stlye to those airline safety manuals.

Interesting, especially the parts where there's medicines and chemicals involved. I work with some of those every day. Quite easy for me to obtain :-0

The only one I really object to is people throwing themselves in front of trains. Made me late for work, you selfish motherfucker.
I do, however, enjoy explaining to people that they're trying to overdose on a harmless substance. "No madam, you cannot under any circumstances kill yourself with too much folic acid"....

You probably could do yourself in with a whole shiet load of folic acid. I've heard that the only vitamin you can't really OD on is vitamin C. Apparently vitamin B and A complexes can get dangerous in large amounts. I remember I used to take accutane a few years back which is a vitamin A derivative and the doc said I'm not allowed to take vitamin A supplements at all and if I miss a pill, not to take 2 the next day, just take one. I think vitamin A is harder for your liver to process.

I learned about a lot of chemicals that will fuck your body up nicely in chemistry last year. Can't really remember any of them, but for some reason our teacher always had very detailed explanations of exactly what happens to your body, organs, etc when you ingest a given chemical. Sometimes made me wonder

From Toxbase, pretty much the definitive poisons information in the UK:
Vitamin B9 or B11. Used before and during pregnancy and in the treatment of anaemia.
Ingredients:
Folic acid
Tablets - 400 micrograms, 5 mg
Syrup - 2.5 mg/5 mL, 400 micrograms/5 mL
Toxicity:
Virtually non-toxic
Features:
None expected.
Treatment:
Unlikely to be required.
The only way you can kill yourself with folic acid is to have several tons dumped on you from a great height :icon32:

I watched a thing about the London Underground and they interviewed a train driver who'd been driving a train someone jumped infront of, it massively fucked him up and he'd had to give up work. I think it's an extremely thoughtless and incosiderate way to kill yourself.

That might be true if it wasn't for the fact that Underground staff are massive fucking pussies. I'd take the kings cross fire as a cause of post traumatic stress, but a jumper? Nah, that's "I want paid leave". I see worse every day - at least the train drivers don't have to clear the bits up.
Remember, they get paid as well as I do and they're holding the capital to ransom over "safety" this christmas, which means I'm going to have to camp out in the hospital for about a week just to be able to get to work.
