PURSUIT against Microsoft for a problem of overheating of the Xbox 360
In short, it says that a man who bought the console found it defective because it overheat and then stop functioning.
Also it says that there is a collective pursuit against Microsoft that ( Microsoft ) were eager to take part in a global market evaluated at 25G$ and in order to take advance on its rivals Sony and Nintendo it delivered defective products.
The power block and CPU overheat and that affect the chips that are susceptible to the heat and thus the console goes inoperable.
Microsoft says that these are isolate cases but they should represent only a fraction of all the units sold.
I hope you understand my translation and that you don’t have any problem with your new Xbox.

its not about being into toys pete...the bottom line is that news like this is mainstream stuff because the xbox 360 release was such a big deal...you donn't have to follow 'toys' to know that there was a WashingtonPost article about the problem. Do you really think a forum with members that follow video games and technology as closely as the people here do wouldn't have known about a two week old story about xbox 360s?
To prevent future issues, just consult reality before posting some of this stuff.

we have 2 of them at my work (lan center), and they were in a locked, enclosed case (with no ventilation), i had left the COD2 case in with the xboxs while they were being played, when i took the case out it was melted.

there are reports of the things scratching dvds. ofcourse 9 out of 10 times they got scratched because idiots moved the thing while it was running. thats just asking for trouble

I haven't touched mine AT ALL and it hasn' scratched anything. Those reports are retarded, usually going something like "I tried to play catch with my xbox wih the game inside and when i ejected the CD it was scratched?!!"
The heating problems are also retarded. Fucking hell, lets see somebody try and stick his super fast PC in a cramped corner under his TV with ZERO airflow, and see if his PC lasts long. The problem is people are trying to hide the brick of a power supply. I simply put mine on my sub, behind my TV, out of the way of the eye. It was on all day yesterday and had fantastic airflow, and i had no problems.
People are moaning about all sorts of things, and 9/10 of them are THEIR fault.
And as for people saying M$ have failed with this thing... Fucking hell, does anybody remember the PS2 launch? That thing hardly had "3% back faulty" did it, and that wasn't exactly killed off. Its a launch console, where millions of the fuckers are gonna sell. OF COURSE A FEW MAY BE FAULTY.
The main gripe i DO HAVE, however, is that on my 360, my videos stutter. DVD's play smooth and fine. Games play smooth and fine. But actual videos (Start up Bond-like video to PD:Z, Kameo intro story video etc) all stutter like fuck for no reason. Now I'm willing to understand that its jsut a random problem; none of my mates have it.
But just you try getting in touch with M$... Fuck me... Ever yday i calle them, and they said "we will get a techy to call you back" and they never did. They finally did yesterday, only it was JUST to tell me that "You need a techy, I cant help with this problem sir, sorry, he will call you back in the next 24-48 hours".
So now i wait.
Other than that though, my 360's perfect. The dashboard id pure amazing and TBH playing on other consoles (even my cube) now just feels so fucking dated. It rocks my socks, so to speak.
Just a sad shame that Ridge Racer 6 and Dead Rising are not launch titles. Oh well, Kameo, Perfect Dark: Zero and Condemned will have to do me until then.

Aye, me too. There are a few games that should of done.
But TBH i'm glad didn't. Yeah the launch line up is quite weak (most are ports of another consoles game but with LESS features?), but come on. Have you played PD:Z? Its a fantastic game, great visuals... But at the same time, its just NOT that good? You cna stand in this amazing looking jungle, trees casting all sorts of shadows, textures so hig hres you shit yourself at how good it looks, then... You start firing at a reject from Thief: Deadly Shadows, with his big plastic head, with a gun that looks to be the same quality as the original Perfect Dark...? And the voice overs are just laughable at best. Great online though, fantastic even.
I think Kameo is by far the best launch game. Its Zelda, but with a girl instead of link! I love it!

link was quite the girly girl to begin with

my PC wouldnt last in a corner because its a PC, this is a console, theyre meant to be rammed under your TV in the smallest poss place, if it was meant to be a PC then build a fucking PC and label it as... a PC
christ dude, your quick to slag off everything but when X box fuck up its "oooo its ok, theyre bound to have a few problems"

its like, buying an X box, phoning them up because its fucked, gets told a pack of lies about someone phoning him back
does it all over again and gets informed that someones gunna call him back in 24-48hrs (like he aint heard that 1 before)
then turning round to everyone and goes
"this thing rocks"
