...I think you misunderstand.
The whole thing is a sliding scale. If the link is made here than consuming a large quantity of aspertine causes 20% more instances of cancer in mice (for example) then it follows that drinking a small amount will still increase your chance of developing a cancer proportionally.
It's not as if 100 cans of coke zero = 3 cancerous lumps per person :icon27:

I've also read that some of the components that aspartame breaks down into in the human digestive system, actually have more potent effects on humans than they do on mice. Not sure how true that is, but I guess it's possible.

No but they said that a mouse would have to consume as much that is tolerable by a person to increase the chances of cancer.
So I would have to consume as much as is tolerable for say a blue whale before it increased my chances in a similar way.

"Our study has shown that aspartame is a multipotential carcinogenic compound whose carcinogenic effects are also evident at a daily dose of 20 milligrams per kilogram of body weight (mg/kg), notably less than the current acceptable daily intake for humans," the authors write. Currently, the acceptable daily intake for humans is set at 50 mg/kg in the United States and 40 mg/kg in Europe.

20mg per kg of body weight is a ratio. Yes, the actual amount of aspartame will be different but the ratio to your body weight would be the same...

Its been known for years. A doctor I know told me that aspartame is cancerogenic, so its not good for you, but the US used it for some foods for the soldiers and they got cancer.

Bottled water may contain many more bacterial colonies. It varies quite alot depending on the brand.

There are going to be court proceedings in New Mexico to hear evidence of aspartame's health effects.

Why must everything I enjoy be bad for me? Just watch, next they'll say that shooting heroin into your eyeballs is bad.

Never liked soda enough to bother with the diet versions tbh. If I'm going to drink something unhealthy then it needs to at least have some caffeine in it.
