"News
November 22nd 2005 - 10am - Well, after 55 hours of pain, cold, and suffering, we have got our Xbox 360 and successfully smashed it outside Best Buy minutes later, with a large sledgehammer in front of a few Xbox Fanboys who just bought brand new 360s. Short video clip will be posted tomorrow (23rd) and the longer documentary style one will be posted with the next few days. For now, enjoy these pictures!"

Not saying it's a good thing, but imagine waiting in line not knowing if you are going to get this item you have waited for, then along comes the first guy in line and he smashes it right in front of you....

in a metaphorical sense, the folks that bought them just to go sell them on ebay kind of did the same thing...but i like the dramatic flare better...
hehe.

Sounds like a retarded flush of $400+ down the proverbial drain.
But hey, if that's what you have to do to get attention. More power to ya.
And no, I didn't stand in line for an Xbox, nor do I want one.

You spend $400 on some electronic component and then come here to brag about and get attention and then get smashed.
I fail to see the difference?
Oh wait, some people here have respect for what those guys did :icon34:

You've failed to make a valid point, yet again.
If I were to come here and say, "Hey I just got an Xbox 360". The only people who could possibly think I was bragging would be the impartial idiots (that being you) or the people who don't have one. Also, many different people post things on the internet for many different reasons. For me, getting your attention isn't one of them.
But I think I can most certainly say that the above mentioned idiots (who went out, stood in line for hours on release day, bought an xbox 360, smashed it on camera in front of other customer so they could post it on the internet) were looking for attention.

I didn't read what you just posted but I'm sure its another of the same old "gwamps logic" style retort. :icon29:

Well, out of all the people that got mugged of their x360's when they walked out the store.
Is should have been these guys. Man now that would be sweet irony!

Ironically I found the smashed xbox while going out of my mind trying to repair an xbox. Searching for a schematic, I stumbled on the news. I was at my wits end and I got a good calming chuckle reading everyones comments on xbox-scene.
I caused me to take the much needed coffee break, and once i got back to the xbox relaxed I found the problem.
Smashmyxbox saved and xbox's life

Although funny and clever, I don't see how this would inspire a change in anyone's ideals.

I'd love to see these retards sat down in a room with a chemo kid with about 2 months to live whos one christmas wish was a 360 just as he's told that he can't have one because they thought it would be funny to smash one up for no real reason.

There is reason behind what they did.
Besides, it was their XBOX and they can do whatever they want to do with it. How is what they're doing any different than selling it for $2500 on ebay? In fact, what they're doing has more merit than turning around and selling it.
It's a material thing and really has no bearing on anything. Good job smashers, you've done well.

I personally think that's hilarious. But that's just because I think people are idiots for standing 12 hours in the cold - or paying triple the price - to get an XBox now, instead of waiting 3 weeks when they can just casually walk into any store and get the exact same thing with no hassle.
I find the statement it makes to the loonies pretty damn humorous.

Not that they'll ever understand it.

I'd love to see the retarded chemo kid who, with 2 months to live, wishes for nothing else for xmas than a 360.
The people who smashed it up are doing nothing different than those freaks waiting in line. They can bring it home and play it, shit on it, sleep with it, use it as a coaster, etc... it's their 360. Regardless if one guy smashes his and the other guy takes his home to play, the chemo kid still doesn't get one.
