At a west Phoenix apartment, they imprisoned her in a dog kennel for about a week and threatened her with a gun, Hill said. They sold her for sex dozens of times on the Internet, he said, and forced her to hide in a hollowed-out bed frame covered with plywood.

That's really sick.
One thing I noticed is that Gray (the bf) got charged with "hundreds of counts" while Butler (the gf) got charged with an obviously lesser amount. This type of inequality is what truly pisses me off about the American and Canadian justice systems. Up here in igloo-land we had the Bernardo and Homolka caseinvolving kidnapping, rape, torture, etc a little over ten years ago. The thing is that now Bernardo is still in prison (where he should be) while Homolka was released after a paltry ten years and is now among the general public again. IMO they need to start prosecuting women to the same degree as they do men in these type of cases.

Women should definitely be prosecuted the same as men.
In sexual abuse cases against other females they should especially be prosecuted the same. It takes a particularly sick kind of woman to put another woman through that kind of shit.
