Well, I don't know about the DVD or anything but I'm guessing its just because of low ratings. That's all they care about. I dont have anything against Firefly but at the same time, I don't necessarily blame Fox--they're in it for the ratings; they are a business afterall. I think they have a lot of shit programming. Ideally what you want is quality programming that has high ratings. Even if you have quality programming but it has low ratings, its just not going to cut it.

Check this link: http://home.insightbb.com/~wahoskem/firefly1.html

As you can see, the ratings declined, which wasn't a promising sign at all. Why that is, I don't know. I don't think Fox handles their shows very well at all (see Vision of Escaflowne for a good example) so maybe that can be part of it. But I dont know how valid that is.

Regardless, I dont know for sure about the cancellation...I'm just speculating.

no my question is specifically about why fox screwed up the ordering of the episodes, not why they cancelled it.

for instance, from what i understand, they didn't show the pilot first, which means that viewers were left confused as to what was going on - it's like printing a book backwards.

i'm wondering if fox issued a statement about this screwup.
