Do you know why the medkit, translocator and battle suit have been removed? And no water at all in any of the maps?

no water i dont mind that much. no lava or other hazardous liquids is odd.
has to do with the gfx engine though - it eats up resources like crazy and still looks like crap

Care to explain that a little? The D3/Q4 engine looks better than anything else I've seen on high graphics settings.
As for the system resource usage Q3 was slow when it came out too.

Oops, sorry I meant "Teleporter" (too much UT2004 :) It was a very funny item. I remember playing a 1vs1 with a friend and he always used the teleporter when in close combat. What a coward!

ok.
the way the engine handles surfaces, water is near impossible without killing resources. that has nothing to do with "omglol this is teh best looking engine evar!!1".. better yet, its because of that that water is so hard to do. there is a bit of water in q4 sp somewhere and you can see that it looks pretty bad; fullbright et al.
with systemresource usage i mean relative system resources, obviously
see odium for more details - i think he made a post somewhere explaining the water thing in full detail

Ah ok. Yeah, I hope they manage to get the water issue worked out in a patch down the road. Some of my favorite Q3 and UT maps have a fair amount of water and it adds an element of risk to have to dive for the MH or RA.
