i think this was roves plan all along with the miers nomination...now they can say 'see we tried to nominate a moderate woman but it didn't work out'...

but i doubt roe vs wade will be overturned. the bush family has always been pro-choice in private...and it would be a social disaster which could cause civil unrest or worse...and it goes against conservative beliefs on population control...

W is the black-sheep of the family and an evangelical. he's unpredictably irrational and seems willing to do about anything to keep the country polarized (aka- keep republicans in power).

news flash...no is remotely religious in the bush family...actually its the opposite...this is well known of them..they just tell ppl that to stay in favor with religious groups...who vote...they learned this back in the 30's i believe...hw's dad preston instilled this value in them...classy eh?

No, I think the Miers nomination was a sign that Bush was losing trust in Rove and Cheney - his two 'mentors' - and maybe even starting to cut them out of the decision making process a little.
It's pretty obvious that Miers was a completely fucking clueless choice - possibly even as clueless as you might expect from W. Bush making his own decisions.
Either way, it's way too late for Bush to save his own ass. After all is said and done, he's going to be left with the choice to either look like a bumbling simpleton of a president who was duped by all the baddies that he picked and appointed himself, or a criminal.
