i'd go for the back of the wrist, that way i could look into tight places and around corners, etc..
would be pretty handy for car repair jobs and the like.

But, you probably know how painful it can be if a little speck of dust gets in your eye. Imagine the pain you'd be in if you were clapping your hands

hand clapping is overrated.
i would mainly be worried about the refresh rate on an optic nerve that long.

I'd put mine at the top of my pyramid, right after I chop the top of part of the pyramid off and make it hover a couple feet in the air, all the while casting an aura of light around the chopped off part. Then I'd get a fellow to transcribe this image to paper, using a dark green felt tip marker.
