What an extremely well put together, well acted piece of realistic, historical film.
I thoroughly reccomend you rent it.

I watched it a few weeks ago, excellent film. A chilling protrayal of what those last days in the bunker must have been like.

It was pretty good, I wonder how accurate it was.

It's mostly based on Traudl Jung's account of events, Hitlers secretary. I'd say it's pretty damn accurate.

Uninstalled it, too much of a clickfest. I might try it again at some point, too many other games at the moment.

I want to see it, but my girlfriend hates war films, especially WWII ones. I guess I'll have to rent it when she's away some day.

It says Downfall on the DVD

. I'm glad it was subtitled and not dubbed. The dubbing ruined Dad Boot, comparing the subtitled version to the dubbed one and there's no comparison.

Also, dubbing would have totally destroyed the magnificent acting by that guy who plays Hitler.

The movie is called 'der untergang' in german. Since it's a german movie our friend eraser suggests we call it by it's original title.
However, i would like to know what he thinks about movies like Hero. Should we call them Nan Fang Hu Pao Likki Wong, or whatever they're called in their native language? I vote nay, since i can't possibly pronounce that shit correctly.

I just watched it.
I hated the cheesy subplot about the boy though.

suicide is why he stood by his principles...read up junior...him along with about 5 other couples performed ritualistic suicide with their mates...thats why he married eva right before he died...its a warrior code like that japs and bushido...

suicide isnt about honor and stuff if you dont like them. in that case its cowardice.

well in hitlers case it wasn't cowardice... calling hitler a coward is not knowing history...
u know about his ww1 experiences eh? he wasn't a coward..the opposite actually...

i believe bill maher got in trouble for this type of thing didnt he? someone said the 9/11 terrorists were cowards and he said that that's not really true. they gave up their lives for their cause so you can't exactly call them cowards according to maher.

I'd agree terrorists killing themselves for what they beleive in isn't really cowardice but hitler killing himself in face of defeat is pretty cowardly. But ultimately what choice would the most hated man on earth have? Capture certainly wouldn't be very appealing.
