ET: QW is going to rock. Whether it rocks more than Q4 is really irrelevant, since it's not coming out this month.

Monkey's audio is good too, but lossless is lossless. since i use EAC/FLAC for archiving it's always been very good to me. i've not tested encoding speeds between the two and most likely won't.

source/flac = duh
source/VBR0 = lol?
flac/VBR0 = see above
yeah, "facts". maybe you need to listen through a proper system before you spout. with computer speakers, sure, you're not likely to hear differences, but not everyone's main listen position is their computer chair.

Amen.
I sometimes wonder if it's all worth it though. The better the setup, the more you notice imperfections making you want higher quality recordings or hardware...

depends on what you call "worth it". i've always been into audio and it's just a hobby you can't shake. so tweaking, some spending, and alot of just
listening goes a long way towards that.
on the flip side, i don't listen to .flac or .wav when i'm mobile, that's just silly, but you're not in an environment where you need to worry about such quality and nuances.

This is the only forum I've ever seen where the users tolerate (and encourage) thread hijacking

And you've stayed for nearly 6 years. I guess it's not so bad.
Plus, it started out as a shit thread so I don't see the harm this time.
