Not looking to bad. At least the title logo is the same, which doesn't happen very often (Except for Doom)

One thing though... I thought old 006 was supposed to be the good guy? That was great casting because he looked like the original guy so it would of had a good feeling to it. Where does he fit into it now, seeing as the woman from pitch black is the star?

It's nice that they stayed true to the game and wrote a plot that makes no fucking sense whatsoever.
Sample Dialogue, hot from the script:
"Who?......."
"Where am I?........."
"That dream........"
"Did I just imagine that.........?"
"That smell......."
"Why did I come back.........to here........?"
Repeat ad nauseam.

Read my post again. I didn't say "no plot", I said "a plot that makes no fucking sense".

Just to be sure we're talking about the same plot:
Rose cannot accept the knowledge that her daughter Sharon is dying of a fatal disease. Over the protests of her husband, she flees with her child, intending to take the girl to a faith healer. On the way, she ends up driving through a portal in reality, which takes her to the eerie and deserted town of Silent Hill. Sharon disappears in Silent Hill, and Rose follows what she thinks is her daughter's silhouette all over town. It's soon clear the town is not like any place she's ever been. It's inhabited by a variety of creatures and a living darkness that descends and literally transforms everything it touches. The human inhabitants (the ones who are left) are trapped and fighting a losing battle against the Darkness.
Joined by a cop named Cybil, who has been sent to bring her and Sharon back, Rose searches for her little girl while learning the history of Silent Hill and that Sharon is just a pawn in a larger game. To save her daughter, Sharon makes a deal with a demon in the form of a little girl, and allows the forces of darkness to take the town and destroy those who tried to destroy the demon.
Actually, a town getting taken over by The Darkness would be pretty cool. Although that town would probably be Rickmansworth
Still pissed off that my copy of SH4 doesnt work

oh i thought you meant the series' plot. althought the movie plot fits right into it though
and do you know how many times we made that joke about The Darkness when playing SH1?

kinda kills the mood though

Well I mean I get the whole descent-into-a-hell-of-your-own-imagination thing. And I love Silent Hill, it creeps me the fuck out. That mannequin thing jumping up in SH2 scared the living crap out of me.
The monsters still mostly look like condoms full of shit, though

Hmm, i'm starting to think i may have missed something by not playing any of the SH games.
Is it old now, and not creepy anymore? Or still worth picking up when i come across it?

the mannequin in SH3

i so did not expect that shit
ryoki: its very jap horror. so the more you tihnk about it , the more creeped out you get. dont expect any BOO! scares, cause theyre hardly there.
it either works for you or it doesnt.
i recommened SH2. great game, very deep plotline :icon14: really forces you to think and notice subliminal clues scattered around town

Thx.

SH2 was great. Still should be
I never got really far in SH3 unfortunately (although I heard it's nowhere near as good as SH1/SH2) and never really played SH1.

sh3 is very lineair, and some scenes really feel like an excuse to make some more disgusting situations. it has some creepy moments though, its just very shallow in term of story

How's SH4? Better right? Am I missing much in terms of storyline if I skip 3? I bet not much, as I fully understood 2 while I never played 1.

the only two directly connected are 1 and 3. 2 and 4 are seperate storylines, although there are some references to 2 in 4.
4 is ok. not great, the weakest being the main char who has no personality whatsoever. its also a lot brighter lit than the previous games, and it uses a lot of grey. (suits the plot, but isnt very appealing visually).
it also more actionoriented than the previous games, and has some quasibacktracking going on, too.
a lot of people thought it sucked. most of them didnt understand wtf was going on

. the changes in gameplay didnt help them either
