I got myself a scanner that picks up a bit of frequencies. I've found some police frequencies to listen to and also a list of frequencies that I programmed. The problem is that it doesn't recieve very well, especially in my basement where I spend most of my time. Any tips?

Not an option for him
When I was a kid I shimmied up a streetlight across the street and attached the other end of a 50ft wire to make a nice shortwave antenna to my second story window.
I disconnected it during thunderstorms...

Connect the arial to the earth connection in a plug.

go to the nearest radiator or pipe, scratch off some paint and connect the antenna to that. thatll make pretty much your whole house a receiver :icon14:
