ddr mixers

is it safe for me to mix a 3200 256 mb strip with a 1gb 3200 meg strip ?

I think you can with the newest generation motherboards but not older ones

been to long since I did any sort of upgrading with PC's


the last time was on a PIII 800 in 2000 (I think) I remember someone saying something where if you were to use DDR ram you needed to make sure that the ram amounts were the same




clearly they were talking shit

no you can. i dont know of many ram types where you cant mix sizes.

The only thing that should change is the timing. If one is CS2 and the other is CS3, the timing will go at the slower CS3 for all chips.
