Is working out and being buff not cool anymore?

I just watched The Simpson S16E15 and they show Milhouse in the future, he's a loser so he worked out a lot and is really buff. Is that the true opinion that people are getting right now? People think that someone who works out must have low self-esteem and stuff?

the people that work out are the ones that have a negative self image. They take solice in making themself look better to feel better and hence attract women.

There are those that are just into keep fit but they are never usually fat in the first place as its something they are brought up with or something they get into at an earlier age

Yeah, it has nothing to do with self respect or anything and respect for your own body.

Sure there are people with low selfesteem who think working out is all they need to change that. But its not a rule.

There's nothing I love more after hitting the gym than a nice, long cry into my pillow.
